ABOUT ME

Thank you for visiting my page. I'm Aaron MacDonald, a graduate of the NSCC Radio & Television Arts program (Television Production Specialization) and a graduate of Acadia University. At Acadia I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science, it was after graduating that I decided to pursue a career in television.

I always found myself wondering how they did that when watching some of my favourite shows and I wanted to learn how it was all put together. If you were to ask me what my favourite genre of television was I wouldn't be able to give just one. I love competition based reality shows, game shows and science fiction and hope to someday get to work on these types of shows. That being said I enjoy working in a news environment, the pace and excitement of working on a live newscast is amazing.

Since 2012 I've worked at CTV Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There I've been given the opportunity to develop my skills, learning almost every position in the building. Though I am not full time other staff will often come to me to ask for advice or help due to my extensive knowledge or our technology and my expertise in producing our shows. A significant portion of my time since 2013 has been in the roles of Director or Technical Director for our newscasts.

Goals

My goal is to find full time employment in the television industry and a position that will challenge me to grow and develop my skills.
